The Strategy Bar is the live scoreboard for your project. It sits at the top of your dashboard and shows four metrics updating continuously against the targets you set. It is also where you set and edit those targets. No settings page, no nested menus. Just click a metric and edit it.

The four metrics

MetricWhat it shows
REVRevenue (from Shopify or your primary revenue source)
SPENDTotal ad spend across Meta and Google Ads
MERMarketing Efficiency Ratio (Revenue ÷ Spend)
CPACost Per Acquisition (Spend ÷ conversions)
Each metric shows the current value alongside your target. A coloured arrow indicates whether you are trending above or below target.

Setting targets for the first time

If you have not set targets yet, the Strategy Bar shows a banner prompting Set your Targets. Click it to enter all four at once.
  1. Click Set your Targets on the Strategy Bar.
  2. Enter your monthly Revenue target.
  3. Enter your monthly Spend target.
  4. Enter your CPA target.
  5. MER is calculated automatically from Revenue ÷ Spend.
  6. Save.
You do not need to fill in every target. Start with Revenue and Spend. MER will calculate automatically, and you can add a CPA target later.

Editing a single target

Click any individual metric to edit just that target inline. This is useful when you want to adjust one number without touching the rest.

Why targets matter

Targets power the Forecast section of your morning briefing and several Risk signals:
  • Without a Revenue target, ClickBoss cannot tell you whether you are on pace for the month.
  • Without a Spend target, budget pacing alerts are limited.
  • Without a CPA target, efficiency alerts are limited.
Set them once and ClickBoss keeps measuring against them automatically.

Changing the date range

The Strategy Bar defaults to showing month-to-date values against your monthly targets. You can switch the date range to see daily, weekly, or custom windows. The targets scale proportionally for shorter ranges (for example, a 30k monthly target displays as roughly 1k daily).

Frequently asked questions

No. The morning briefing still works without targets. But the Forecast card will be limited and some Risk signals will be less actionable. Set them as soon as you can.
Yes. Open the Strategy Bar any time and update. We recommend reviewing targets at the start of each month.
MER (Marketing Efficiency Ratio) is total revenue divided by total ad spend. If you spend 10kandmake10k and make 40k, your MER is 4.0.
Each project has its own Strategy Bar and its own targets. Create a separate project for each brand.
